Rylan Clark reckons his flashy white teeth might have saved his career because they were so show-stopping that nobody noticed he was a "s***" presenter. The TV star splashed out on bright white veneers just before he started hosting Big Brother's Bit On The Side in 2013, which was his first proper presenting job after he captured the public's attention auditioning for The X Factor. And according to the Mirror he told Notebook magazine that his polished gnashers helped take the heat off his hosting skills.Rylan, 33, said: "My mouth was swollen from the anaesthetic, they were brilliant white, brand new.

That was the first night everyone saw them, and all people did was take the p*** out of my teeth."So no one realised I was a s*** presenter, and by the time they stopped talking about my teeth a few months later, I'd got better at the job."Rylan – who split from his hubby Dan Neal last year - was thought to have forked out around £25,000 for his teeth after he came to fame. However, he has been quoted as saying that getting the pearly whites might not have been the best decision he ever made.Back in 2016, he said his teeth were "the biggest mistake" of his life. But the Strictly: It Takes Two star added: "To be fair, they've earned me a lot of money."Rylan changed up his smile late last year, telling his fans on Twitter that he had "taken the decision to say goodbye" to his set after eight years and that a new smile was on its way."It hurts, so much, but sometimes you just have to let go," he quipped. The star later took to Instagram to document his recovery and show off his new look. For more of the latest showbiz news from Daily Star, make sure you sign up to one of our newsletters here..
