With Jack Ross' side leading 1-0 at Ibrox through Kevin Nisbet, Porteous' lunge on Joe Aribo was punished with a sending off from referee Nick Walsh after 30 minutes.
The champions would go on to turn the game around with Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos netting and securing a 2-1 victory.Manager Ross insisted he disagreed with the decision at first but on seeing an alternative angle of the incident conceded that his defender's leg was high as he tackled Nigeria cap Aribo.Porteous' challenge will now judged by a three-man SFA panel of former officials.
