Ryan Giggs was left with blood on his mouth after he allegedly headbutted ex-girlfriend Kate Greville, a court heard today. Former Wales and Manchester United footballer Giggs, 48, is accused of intimidating, controlling, coercing and physically assaulting Ms Greville, all of which he denies.
He is also accused of assaulting her sister Emma Greville. On Friday, Manchester Crown Court heard audio from two 999 calls made from Mr Giggs' house by Emma, on 1 November, 2020.
The calls took place at 10:05pm, lasting four minutes, and 10:11pm, lasting just over five minutes. They court also heard a statement from one of the officers who came to Giggs' house, who claimed the former footballer had "blood around his mouth".The first call began with Emma Greville requesting assistance from the police.
Asked by the operator where the emergency services were required, Greville gave the address of the property and asked: "Can we have them now please?" Detailing the nature of the alleged incident, she added: "Assault, headbutting now."Crying could then be heard in the background of the call, along with Giggs, who was shouting.
