Russian McDonald's fan handcuffs himself to restaurant on final business day

McDonald's restaurant before the American retailer shuts its business in Russia. The scene comes after the fast food giant said they will pull out their business in Russia and close its 850 stores due to the horrifying invasion of Ukraine.

In a video shared on social media, a man, who claimed to be Luka Safronov, handcuffs himself to the fast food joint's entrance to fight its closure yesterday (Sunday, March 13).

Luka, who wears a Khaki green hoodie, stands right next to the door and apparently yells: "Closing down is an act of hostility against me and my fellow citizens!"But he is greeted by four Russian cops and shortly taken away from the food outlet while other hungry customers walk past him to get their final fill of McDonald's grub.

Last week, one Russian McDonald's fan filled their fridge full of burgers as their last bid to enjoy as much American fast food as they could.The news comes after hundreds of fast food lovers in Moscow queued for half a mile to get their final orders in before the outlets closed.Video footage posted online by Ukraine Live News shows cars lining up in a Moscow drive-thru, while photos across Twitter show some desperate customers lining the streets on foot in the snow.Other pictures show hungry Russians lining up around the block on foot, waiting it out in blisteringly cold temperatures for a cheeky Quarter Pounder.McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski said: "The conflict in Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis in Europe has caused unspeakable suffering to innocent people.
