Prince Andrew should "fall on his sword" after the "entitled" Duke of York demanded his HRH title back, according to reports. The "His Royal Highness" title was stripped from Prince Andrew in January along with military titles and royal patronages, with the Duke of York said to be lobbying the Queen for the return of his roles.

A royal commentator has claimed Andrew should learn from an historic example of falling on his own sword, with expert Dickie Arbiter claiming the Duke of York is suffering from the "great British malaise of 'entitlement'".The Duke of York's lobbying of former titles comes just six months after the settlement of his civil sexual assault case against Virginia Giuffre.Andrew is said to currently be lobbying the Queen for his role as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, the Independent reported.Arbiter has criticised Andrew for his lobbying of former roles, saying that the Duke of York would "do well to learn" from former member of parliament John Profumo.Taking to Twitter, the royal expert wrote: "Prince Andrew wanting to return to duty and his titles back is suffering from that great British malaise of 'entitlement'."He'd do well to learn 1963 when War Minister John Profumo fell on his sword, & volunteered to work tirelessly, without fanfare, for the charity".The charity Arbiter referenced is that of Toynbee Hall, which Profumo volunteered at for four decades.Profumo had been involved in a relationship with 19-year-old Christine Keeler, leading to the infamous Profumo Affair and subsequent scandal which rocked Harold Macmillan's Conservative government. After Profumo resigned from government, he spent his later years volunteering at Toynbee Hall and subsequently received a CBE in the Queen's 1975 Birthday.
