The A560, Stockport Road, was last night shut off in both directions at the junction with New Hey Road after a collision overturned the vehicle, spilling fuel over the carriageway.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, with fire crews spotted working on the car as it started to smoulder. Smoke could be seen rising from the underneath of the vehicle, with flames taking hold of the front end of the vehicle.
