Rio Ferdinand has revealed that he knew he was going to have a baby with wife Kate Ferdinand as soon as they couple started dating in 2017.

Speaking about his relationship with his wife on Gabby Logan’s Mid Point podcast, Rio, 42, explained: "Kate came in and really sacrificed everything for us.

I wasn’t going to sit there and say actually, I don’t think you should have any kids.” The former footballer added: “I knew from the get go as soon as I met her, and we started forming a relationship and she integrated into the family that a baby was going to be inevitable.
