Rio Ferdinand warned "don’t believe everything you read” when asked about the alleged “bust-up” in a recent Manchester United training session.
The Red Devils’ miserable campaign ended in a whimper, as Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace side comfortably overcame the Reds in their final Premier League match of the season.
It was a result that consigned United to a poor sixth-placed finish, which would have been even worse had West Ham United not lost to Brighton and Hove Albion.But approximately ten days before the Crystal Palace loss, left-back Alex Telles and United academy star Hannibal Mejbri allegedly had to be pulled apart after having a ‘full-on’ scrap with one another at the end of a training session.
However, an unconvinced Rio Ferdinand suggested those claims should be taken with a pinch of salt, and even if it did happen, training ground “tear-ups” used to happen all the time.“Don’t believe everything you read,” Ferdinand snapped in an interview with JOE, when asked about the incident. “If there are dust-ups in training, then I don’t see that as being something to report on.“I understand why people do report it because people are interested in that stuff, but it’s not a surprise.
