Ricky Dene Gervais (born 25 June 1961) is an English stand-up comedian, actor, writer, film producer, director and musician. He is perhaps best known for creating, writing and acting in the British television series The Office (2001–2003). He has won seven BAFTA Awards, five British Comedy Awards, two Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and the Rose d'Or twice (2006 and 2019), as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. The producers behind this year's Academy Awards are currently searching for a host for the 94th annual Oscars but it won't be Ricky Gervais.The 60-year-old comedian revealed that he would 'never' helm the esteemed film awards show because he wouldn't be allowed to do what he wanted, during an appearance Today with Hoda & Jenna on Tuesday.Ricky has hosted the Golden Globes five times now but explained that he knows the rules would be very different for the Oscars and he's just not interested.
