RICHARD Madeley apologised twice on Good Morning Britain today after misgendering pop star Sam Smith and a guest on the show.
Sam was assigned male at birth but the 30-year-old singer announced they were non-binary in 2019 and asked people to use they/them pronouns.
Richard first apologised after he referred to the three-time Brit winner as "he" during a debate over the star's new music video, and then called radio presenter Shivani Dave "she".
Shivani interupted him and said: "They, I use they and them pronouns." Susanna Reid, 54, stepped in as Richard appeared confused, and said: "Shivani is 'they' not 'she'." Richard, 66, finally said: "I am so sorry, I will learn to do that" before carrying on.
