Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Rhino attack in Nepal last week. While sunbathing in the West Chitwan district of the country, the two became the focus of a sustained assault by the rogue rhino on January 19.Nepal is thought to be home to over 700 rhinos but thankfully attacks like this are rare.According to local police, Budana Mahato, 70 and Dhodhari Mahato, 80, were both injured after the Rhino rushed to attack them outside their house.Following the altercation, both pensioners were rushed to nearby Chitwan Medical College hospital for treatment and are out of danger. The attack is another sobering reminder of the power of nature after news broke earlier this month that a Kenyan fisherman had been disemboweled by a hippo.

Michael Osano, 54, went fishing on the evening of January 5 but failed to return home the same night, with worried family members starting a search for him and his boat the next day.The family were joined by fishermen in search of Osano and later found his wrecked boat, with searchers locating and retrieving his body from Lake Victoria soon afterwards. The man's body had serious injuries that are believed to have been inflicted by hippo bites.Speaking on January 7, West Karachuonyo Beach Management Unit chairman Samuel Osendo said the hippo overturned Osano's boat during the attack. He said: "The hippo broke the deceased's legs and removed his internal organs before it disappeared into the water."Osendo expressed concern over frequent hippo attacks at the beach calling on the Kenya Wildlife Service to intervene and curb the human-wildlife conflict.Rachuonyo North deputy police commander Nelson Omwenga asked fishermen to avoid operating in areas invaded by hippos. The officer thanked residents for standing in solidarity with the family.
