A woman has been left furious after a white van parked on the pavement outside her home - just 50cm from her front door. Margherita Mecenero was just about to leave for a chiropractor appointment when she was met by the van left right outside her house on Etruria Vale Road, Etruria.

Yesterday morning, another vehicle appeared and blocked her own car in.The 47-year-old, who works for bet365, confronted the van driver who eventually apologised and found another spot for his vehicle.

However, Margherita says poor parking has plagued her cul-de-sac has since she moved in four years ago - and is now calling on Stoke-on-Trent Council to come down hard on inconsiderate drivers by fining those who park in unsuitable spots.
