Rescue operation launched after injured man heard shouting for help from walled-in river

A member of the public had alerted the ambulance service, but they were unable to find the man.Rescuers found the man in a walled-in river at the bottom of a steep banking.He was treated by a medic before being safely hauled onto the riverbank.The man was then carried on a stretcher and into an ambulance.He was taken to hospital with a number of injuries.In a post on Facebook, the Oldham Mountain Rescue Team said: "North West Ambulance Service had been alerted by a member of the public to a male shouting for help in a steep wooded area in Hyde."Unable to access or accurately locate the male, they contacted the team for assistance.Upon arrival, OMRT members made their way into the wooded area and quickly located the male in a.
