A Renfrew comedian has launched his first novel with profits going to help the homeless.Stand-Up comedian Glen Maney makes up ‘essential packs’ for the homeless people in Renfrewshire and Glasgow every Christmas.The pack contains a waterproof poncho, gloves, socks and sanitary products for females.Each pack also includes and food and drink.“It’s not a lot but it brings a few extra smiles to a few cold faces in the festive season.” said Glen.And this is where the former Paisley man has taken inspiration for his book – ‘Any Spare Change’ – that he will donate its profits to charity and in to funding a film of the book.Glen explained: “I was out handing out my essential packs one day when I got talking to a former parachute regiment soldier
