Kieran Tierney will miss the next four to six weeks with a knee injury, his club Arsenal have confirmed. The left-back was forced off in the recent loss to Liverpool with manager Mikel Arteta calling it a potentially “serious” issue.
It’s since been found the 23-year-old has suffered knee ligament damage, though it is not severe enough to require surgery and he should be back in training by mid-May the latest.
This should come as a huge relief to Scotland national team boss Steve Clarke as any diagnosis with a longer recovery time would surely have ruled out the former Celtic star from this summer’s European Championships.
