Rebekah Vardy 'knew' Coleen Rooney was 'posting fake stories', court hears

Rebekah Vardy knew Coleen Rooney was "posting fake stories" to see if they would be leaked to the media, the High Court has heard.

Jamie Vardy's wife's Instagram account was accused of leaking "false stories" about Coleen's private life to the press in an explosive social media post in October 2019.

Rebekah, 40, vehemently denies the claims following a "sting operation" from 36 year old Coleen. Mrs Vardy is now suing Wayne Rooney's wife for libel in a High Court battle which is expected to last seven days.

As the trial began with written submissions, Rebekah's barrister Hugh Tomlinson QC argue the "candid" WhatsApp messages previously heard in court between Rebekah and her agent Caroline Watt show that while "from time to time they did discuss ‘leaking’ information to the press", only one post was mentioned.
