Manchester United picked up a point against the Premier League leaders on Sunday afternoon, with Michael Carrick taking charge of his second match as caretaker manager.
The caretaker boss opted for 4-3-3 as his formation on the day, which was a surprise departure from the 4-2-3-1 most regularly used during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's reign.
On the back of the switch, Carrick was asked whether Ralf Rangnick - who is United's new interim head coach - had any influence on the tactical decisions before the match, but he responded with a firm denial.
The German may not have been involved with the specifics of the contest but regardless, Carrick might have provided him with a fresh idea from upon which to build, with 4-3-3 as United's new go-to shape.
