Sterling has long seemingly been one of Pep Guardiola 's 'undroppables' but his form dipped this campaign and, with Phil Foden delivering excellent displays on the left wing, the 26-year-old has been left fighting for first-team football.
However, there were glimpses of quality from Sterling towards the end of the season and Guardiola, perhaps surprisingly, included him in the Blues' starting XI against Chelsea in the Champions League final.
