Raging dog put down after police find it attacking two men inside UK home

dog has been put down after it reportedly lashed out at two men inside a residential property. Police officers were called to a house at Critchley Way in Kirkby, Merseyside on Saturday (May 21) after the bull lurcher began attacking the pair, reports The Echo.

Two men were rushed to hospital for treatment for their injuries after receiving bite injuries to their arms and legs that were described as non-life threatening.Police confirmed the dog was signed over to them by the owner and it was then taken to the vets to be humanely destroyed.

A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We were contacted at 8.40pm on Saturday 21st May following reports a dog had bitten two people at a property on Critchley Way in Kirkby."Two men were taken to hospital for treatment for bite injuries to their arms and legs which are not believed to be life threatening.

Officers attended and the dog, a lurcher/Bull Mastiff cross, was signed over to police by the owner and taken to the vets where it was humanely destroyed."The incident came only a few hours before a 62-year-old man died after being set upon by a killer dog at an address in Wrexham.North Wales Police confirmed that the individual died from cardiac arrest on Monday (May 24) after he suffered wounds inflicted by the dog at a property in the Welsh town.The house was home to multiple dogs, however the animal responsible has now been destroyed.
