A patient hurled a tirade of racial abuse towards staff at an A&E department filled with sick patients. John Hankin, 55, used 'unforgivable' language at the Royal Liverpool Hospital where he shouted at staff and threw himself on the floor.
A nurse was trying to treat Hankin at the busy emergency ward when security officer Bilal Sayaghi was called in to help. Hankin, of Wallasey, Merseyside, became aggressive and began swinging his arms at the security officer and his colleague so Mr Sayaghi restrained him, Liverpool Echo reports.
But when he let go, Hankin launched a wave of abuse in front of patients and staff, repeatedly using the N-word and calling Mr Sayaghi "dirty".
