Queen's cause of death aged 96 confirmed as death certificate reveals time she died

Her Majesty the Queen died from old age, her death certificate has confirmed.The Queen is understood to have passed away peacefully on September 8 aged 96 after doctors became concerned about her health, keeping her under close observation.According to her official death certificate, the Queen passed away at 15:10pm from old age in the grounds of Balmoral castle in Scotland.READ MORE: Harry and Meghan fear Charles is 'easing them out' of Royal Family, says expertHer death was registered by the palace's official doctor Douglas James Allan Glass.It is thought that Princess Anne was the only member of the Queen's close family who was with her at the time of her death.

Prior to the announcement of the Queen's death at 6:30pm on September 8, senior members of the Royal family including King Charles and Prince William travelled to Balmoral to be with her in her final moments - however, it appears they were too late.

The Queen's death certificate was released by the NRS, who had previously said that no information would be released during the national mourning period for her death.

Speaking to the Daily Star earlier this week, the NRS said that only an extract of the Queen's certificate would be released.
