Donald McPherson, 47, denies murdering his 47-year-old wife Paula Leeson at a rented holiday cottage in a 'remote' part of Denmark.
Prosecutors claim Mr McPherson 'stood to gain a vast fortune' if Ms Leeson died, after he had taken out joint life insurance policies covering the couple from Sale which were worth about £3 million.
Her mother claimed Mr McPherson 'never cried at the funeral or showed any grief', while her father said the defendant 'clammed up' when asked about his wife's death.
The trial also heard from Ms Leeson's brother, Neville Leeson, who alleged Mr McPherson showed 'no emotion' when he called to inform him of her death.
