Prince William 'almost bitten in groin' by police dog patrolling Sandringham

Prince William was almost bitten in the groin by a police dog who picked up his sent at Sandringham and thought he was an intruder.

Jon Chandler, who is retiring after a 30-year career with Norfolk Police, said he was patrolling the grounds of Sandringham House one evening when his guard dog ran off.He said the dog zipped off teeth barred, to confront an intruder, which later turned out to be Prince William.Mr Chandler said the dog must have picked up the future King of England scent up as he walked towards the garages.Thankfully, the Duke of Cambridge, who is said to have been very young at the time, wasn’t harmed as police dogs are liable to go for the groin in such circumstances.PC Chandler said: “I was walking my dog off the lead around.
