Prince Philip leaves hospital after heart surgery and longest ever stay

Prince Philip has been discharged from hospital after his longest stay as an in-patient.The Duke of Edinburgh, 99, left the private King Edward VII’s Hospital in central London in the back of a black BMW on Tuesday morning.He has been recovering from a heart procedure carried out earlier this month.Hospital staff on Tuesday morning set up a white, folding screen next to a black BMW at the rear of the building.Police blocked access for vehicles to the hospital, as four officers arrived on motorbikes to join a dozen at the entrance.The duke has spent 28 nights as an in-patient, his longest ever stay.He was admitted on February 16, after telling his doctor he felt unwell.And two weeks later, he was taken by ambulance to St Bartholomew’s.
