Preserved McDonald's chips from over half a century ago found hidden in wall

Rob and Grace Jones were doing some renovations on their home in Crystal Lake, north Chicago, and opened up a section of wall in their bathroom.Inside was a mysterious bundle wrapped up in a towel.
Grace says there was a moment when they thought they might have stumbled on a hidden dead body."We were expecting the worst,” she told NBC News. “We were both like, 'Oh, my gosh, we're going to be unveiling a cold case here,’" adding that she pulled her two small kids away in case there was something grisly inside.But when the couple unwrapped the wadded-up towel they found two slightly-crumpled burger wrappers and a perfectly-preserved portion of fries."Not a cold case, just some cold fries," said Grace, 31. "They were very well preserved."Rob posted pictures of the archaeological find to Reddit, asking “Renovating my bathroom and found this in my wall.
Do I try them or stuff them back in the wall?”He added: “Our house was built in 1959 and pretty sure these have been there since.
Still perfectly crispy.”The wrappers had the original McDonald’s mascot, Speedee, printed on them – dating the packaging to before 1962.The Jones family’s ranch style house was built in 1959, just four years after the very first McDonald’s opened in California.
