Premier League player reportedly booked himself into the same hotel as his new manager in a cringe-worthy attempt to curry favour and get into his good books.

According to the Daily Mail, the unnamed player wanted to 'accidentally' bump into his new boss before striking up a conversation and throwing a few pleasantries his way.When his teammates found out about the crafty tactic, they were unsurprisingly "less than impressed".The story evokes memories of Peter Crouch's mystery former teammate, who had been saddled with the nickname 'Parched'.The name came about due to the player's irritating tendency to slink over to the manager during training water breaks in order to get in his ear.Each week during That Peter Crouch Podcast, the former England international would reveal a little more information about 'Parched', allowing fans the chance to guess the player's identity.After keeping the nation on tenterhooks for months, Crouch eventually revealed that the culprit was Scotland international Charlie Adam.Crouch and Adam played together at Stoke City for seven seasons before both left the club in 2019."There’s a couple of instances (where a player will constantly talk to a manager)," Crouch first revealed in January 2020."There’s one player that will remain nameless – I’m not saying the club, when I say remain nameless they always try to get it out me - we decided to call him Parched.What's the most sycophantic thing you've even seen a colleague do at work?
