Remembrance Sunday in 2020 will be like no other, the public barred from the Cenotaph wreath-laying for the first time in its 100-year history and community Royal British Legion parades cancelled due to Covid-19.
But the Mirror’s campaign to ensure our fallen forces heroes are remembered for their sacrifice has united all of the nation’s political leaders.
Boris Johnson led the support for our doorstep two-minute silence. He said: “The pandemic will not stop us from honouring the sacrifice and valour of our veterans, the bravest of the brave, the best of what it means to be British.” Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer also got behind our campaign.
