manchestereveningnews.co.ukdirect to your inboxOfficers had to turn more than one hundred cars away from Formby Beach on Saturday and issued thousands of pounds worth of fines for breaches of lockdown.Merseyside Police said people had travelled to the beauty spot from as far as Manchester, Stockport, and Leeds for a day out in the good weather.Around 20 people were issued with fixed penalty notices of £200 for flouting coronavirus restrictions.The current government guidance says it's the law to not leave or be outside of your home except where you have a ‘reasonable excuse’.Reasonable excuses include shopping for essential items such as food and exercise - which you can do with your household or one other person.From March 8, individuals are able to meet with one.
