Police are poised to question serial killer Levi Bellfield on more attacks on women, it is claimed. It is said that Met Police detectives have written to the jailed 52-year-old to inform him and they have plans to question him over a number of still unsolved crimes.
Bellfield is serving life sentences for murdering schoolgirl Milly Dowler, 13, and students Amelie Delagrange, 22, and Marsha McDonnell, 19, between 2002 and 2004.
The rapist and triple murderer was also convicted of trying to kill Kate Sheedy, then 18, when he ran over her as she crossed a road.
He is currently an inmate at maximum security Frankland Prison in County Durham. Bellfield was suspected of attacking more than 100 women when he was jailed in 2008.
