Police hunting ‘cowardly attacker’ who stole pensioner's handbag following assault in Glasgow

assault and robbery in the city. The incident happened at about 1.15pm on Thursday, 15 October, 2020, on MacLean Square. A man approached a 66-year-old woman from behind before assaulting her and stealing her handbag.He then ran off in the direction of Govan Road and Pacific Drive.

The woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment of her injuries which are not described as life threatening.

The male suspect is described as in his 20s and of a medium build.He was wearing a dark woollen hat, blue fleece and black shorts.

Detective Constable Joseph Keith, of Glasgow CID, said: “This was a cowardly act where the victim has thankfully not sustained life threatening injuries.
