Police force mourns tragic loss of two officers who died just 48 hours apart

A police force is mourning the tragic loss of two of its devoted officers who died two days apart. The chief constable of Sussex Police has paid tribute to PC Doug Franks, a member of the Bognor Response Team, and Sergeant Sean Preston, a custody sergeant in Worthing. "Devoted" father-of-one PC Franks, 43, left behind a son after he died suddenly in his home Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire, on February 10.

While on February 12, Sergeant Preston, 50, died after being admitted to hospital in January having contracted coronavirus. He is survived by his partner, children and grandchildren.
