Police were called to break up a huge queue of people waiting to get inside a supermarket in Oldham. Witnesses said there were more than 100 shoppers queuing outside the Sonali Supermarket, on Featherstall Road South, on Wednesday evening.
It is understood people in the queue were not maintaining social distancing and police were called to disperse them. No fines were issued.
According to one witness, the people were trying to buy supplies before Ramadan which beings on April 23. He told the M.E.N: "There are more then 400 to 500 people are queuing at Sonali Super Store, Oldham for paan. "Currently police are controlling the queue."
