Plans for change to Champions League branded 'just like European Super League'

Champions League have been branded 'just like the European Super League' by Karren Brady.Brady has slammed UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin and his proposals for the competition, which are currently set to come into affect for the start of the 2024/25 season.Under the changes, the Champions League will expand from a 32-team group stage to a 36-team league stage for it's opening round proper.Two of the additional four qualification slots are currently set to be awarded to club's based on their historic performances, which has received backlash from across Europe.Brady has not held back in her response to the plans, with the West Ham vice-chairperson slamming Ceferin and the rest of the European Club Association.In her column for The Sun on Friday, Brady wrote: “He and a group called the European Club Association are nodding to a rich boys’ club who don’t like the idea of fair competition at home leaving them without a ticket to further big bucks abroad.”She later addressed the currently undetermined method of choosing which team's will play who in the new league stage, adding: “My deep suspicion is a ranking system will be fixed to give an extra boost to the continent’s aristocrats’ chances of reaching the knockout stage of 16 clubs.”Teams will play 10 matches in the opening round, five at home and five away, but it is not yet known how their opponents will be selected.What do you make of the proposed changes to the Champions League?
