A planning application has been submitted this week for a £28million housing development in Old Trafford. The proposals for Bold Street are from Homes for Trafford, a joint venture formed between Trafford Council and Trafford Housing Trust, part of L&Q.
The plans include 161 energy-efficient contemporary properties with a mix of homes including one and two-bedroom apartments, and two, three and four-bedroom houses, in a range of styles, sizes and tenure.
The scheme will include 30 per cent affordable homes comprising 48 properties – 16 social rent and 32 shared ownership. The site was formerly home to three high-rise tower blocks and the Seahawk pub.
If approved, Trafford Council and Trafford Housing Trust’s plans will align with the principles of the Council’s Old Trafford Masterplan.
