Jimmy Savile's disused Highland cottage. The twisted paedophile lived in the now notorious property in Glencoe from 1998 until his death in 2011 – and with no one using the property in a decade, it has become extremely rundown. After Savile's crimes came to light after his passing, the cottage has seen a number of vandalism incidents, Scottish Express reports.Graffiti has covered the walls, often describing the former owner as a "beast".The cottage was placed on sale following Savile's death and new owners, the family of retail tycoon Harris Aslam, want to destroy the property and build a "futuristic" home. But National Trust for Scotland has submitted an objection to this build and joined Mountaineering Scotland in slamming the potential new property.

They said the planned building's "substantially enlarged scale and contemporary design does not reflect Glen Coe's long-established, distinct built heritage and would insensitively dominate the landscape in this highly visible location at the heart of the Pass of Glen Coe."Adding: "We believe that a building of deliberate contemporary styling in a prominent location in Glen Coe is without precedent and will distract and detract from the immersive experience of travelling through a landscape that is renowned and valued across the world."It damages our nation's reputation for respecting natural and cultural heritage while bringing no obvious public benefit."The former children's presenter and DJ is believed to have abused up to 20 people inside the remote cottage.

The two-bedroom bungalow was first spotted by Savile on a cycling holiday in 1944 and it was put into the public eye when it featured in the Louis Theroux documentary When Louis Met Jimmy.Prince Charles also visited.
