In his latest Daily Mail column, the 56-year-old said he was double jabbed and tested negative before the game and “kept telling myself, I’ll be fine”.
But in the days after, Piers was burning up, started having random extreme sneezing fits and was the "roughest he's ever felt" leading to his diagnosis on July 13.
The outspoken media personality – who said at one point his voice “now sounds like Barry White” – has largely recovered and didn’t have to seek hospital treatment.
