In fact, during his early days with Swansea City, the 6ft 1in crowd favourite cut a much slimmer figure. After early spells with Boston United, Leyton Orient, Rushden & Diamonds and Torquay United, amongst others, Akinfenwa joined the League One Swans in 2005.The forward joined Swansea as a pretty nifty forward, but a leg break put him out for a whole year and forced him to change his game entirely.Without that leg break, he might not be the same player we are familiar with today.
