These days Akinfenwa, who has regularly received the highest rating for strength in various editions of the FIFA video games series, is affectionately known as the 'Beast.'His large frame and even larger than life personality have seen him win fans around the globe, with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp even calling the 39-year-old a 'legend.'Strange though it may seem, Akinfenwa didn't always look this way.

In fact, during his early days with Swansea City, the 6ft 1in crowd favourite cut a much slimmer figure. After early spells with Boston United, Leyton Orient, Rushden & Diamonds and Torquay United, amongst others, Akinfenwa joined the League One Swans in 2005.The forward joined Swansea as a pretty nifty forward, but a leg break put him out for a whole year and forced him to change his game entirely.Without that leg break, he might not be the same player we are familiar with today.
