The club based at Darnhall Tennis Club plans to run programmes with local school children and attract some of the UK’s top players to several international events this summer.But councillors have raised concerns about the state of the courts left deserted over the past year.At the June 16 meeting of the Perth Common Good Fund committee, the club sought help towards the purchase of equipment such as nets, posts and balls, in order to run the programmes.
Liberal Democrat Perth City South councillor Willie Wilson said local residents had raised concerns. He said: “Once the temporary court was erected, it was deserted for many months - albeit during the pandemic when the area quite frankly became a doggy loo to.
