Clyde have raised funds for the "hero" river crews who never gave up searching for him.A widespread appeal was launched when popular Martin Ackland went missing in Glasgow in December last year, with comic Kevin Bridges describing the 36-year-old as a 'crackin guy'.The body of the "much loved" insurance manager was recovered from the river 14 weeks later.Now his loved ones have raised more than £1,500 for the Glasgow Humane Society (GHS), whose "selfless" crews have helped return thousands of loved ones to their families while saving countless lives.Martin's partner Nadine Poli, who launched the Just Giving appeal, said: "The GHS gave us hope and helped bring Marty home."The GHS have an important role in promoting safety and preservation of
