Joey Jordison has died "in his sleep" at the age of 46, a representative for his family has confirmed.The star was the founding drummer of the heavy metal band Slipknot and co-wrote many of the group's greatest hits, including Gematria (The Killing Name) and My Plague.The cause of death has not been announced, but no foul play is suspected. A representative explained that he passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday 26 July and his family have been left with "empty hearts and feelings of indescribable sorrow." The tragic announcement, obtained by Rolling Stone, reads: "We are heartbroken to share the news that Joey Jordison, prolific drummer, musician and artist passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26th, 2021.
