EXCLUSIVE: Vice TV is exploring Sex Before The Internet in a new docuseries from former ABC News President James Goldston.

Emily Longeretta For the first time, Angel Carter Conrad is sitting down with brother Nick Carter as part of her upcoming documentary, “The Carters: Hurts to Love You.” In the new trailer for the Paramount+ documentary, Aaron Carter‘s twin sister, Angel, tells the story of her family’s many ups and downs through the years — from the rise of Nick’s career with the Backstreet Boys and Aaron’s as a solo artist to the tragic death of three of their siblings. (Leslie Carter died of an apparent overdose in 2012; Aaron, died from accidental drowning in 2022 and Bobbie Jean died of an accidental overdose in 2023.) From director Soleil Moon Frye and produced by See It Now Studios and Candle True Stories, the two-part doc “features intimate conversations between the only surviving Carter siblings, Angel and Nick, who confront their complex childhood and the profound tragedies that marked their family” as well as never-before-seen home videos, photographs, audio recordings and private text messages.

His exit may spur new questions about what plans ABC News has to assign an executive to directly oversee talent relations, something that people familiar with the unit say has been in question for several months.

Staffers inside ABC News were taken aback by the announcement, according to two people familiar with the matter, which was made at the unit’s Monday news meeting.

Deshishku was the executive editor of ABC News, and part of a team of senior executives put together by former ABC News President Kim Godwin.

Goldston will serve as president of the new division, which will produce scripted and nonscripted features and series “inspired by true stories,” according to Candle. Goldston spent 18 years at ABC News, including seven years as president, before exiting in 2021. overseeing all aspects of America’s number one news division, including #1 rated “Good Morning America” and “World News with David Muir.” He also led ABC News into the streaming era with a series of successful podcast and documentary projects for Hulu and Disney+, including “The Dropout,” produced by Rebecca Jarvis and her team, which became a successful podcast, documentary and Emmy-award winning scripted series for Hulu, and John’s Ridley’s “Let it Fall,” a duPont-Columbia Award-winning documentary on the LA riots. His teams have won five Edward R. Murrow Awards for Overall Excellence, and numerous other prestigious honors in journalism, including a Peabody, duPont-Columbia, and Emmy awards.

The chairman of the January 6th Committee, getting its first primetime moment, plans to start the hearing by warning that “our democracy remains in danger.”

A House select committee is holding public, televised hearings detailing its investigation into the Jan. 6, 2020 attack on the U.S. Capitol. The first hearing will start Thursday at 8 p.m. ET. The second will be held Monday, June 13th, at 10 a.m. ET. There may be as many as eight days of hearings before month’s end, and more in September. You can watch them all below.
