Presenter Declan Donnelly has had a whirlwind few weeks after the tragic loss of his beloved brother in July. However, the month also saw some happiness as Declan, 46, announced that he and wife Ali Astall had welcomed their second child together and named him Jack Anthony Alphonsus. He took to Instagram the day after baby Jack’s arrival to share a sweet picture of the newborn holding his dad’s finger and wrote: “Shortly before 10am yesterday, 23.7.2022, Ali and I welcomed the arrival of our son, Jack Anthony Alphonsus, a very welcome ray of light.

When naming a new royal baby, there are certain traditions that the Royal Family like to stick to. More recently babies born into the family have been given far less formal names, however, they are still in keeping with royal heritage. Nine of the late Queen's descendants are named in her honour, even if they don't share her first name.
