Steph McGovern stunned as two mums open up on cruel jibes from parents on their dwarfism
Channel 4's Steph's Packed Lunch on Monday afternoon to talk about their experiences of parenting when they have dwarfism.Michelle Harris and Cathy Reay told Steph about the downright rude comments, probing questions and judgy remarks they receive because of their height.Cathy Reay said mums at a parenting group were incredibly unwelcoming, asking if she knew if her baby would be disabled.Michelle said she was often asked by other mothers if her son was adopted, as he didn't inherit dwarfism.Cathy said she was relying on parent and baby groups for support.She had to make the conscious decision for her second child to stay away from groups to protect them.Her children are now 7 and 3, and she says her 7-year-old has a "no-nonsense"
