Billy Joel has been announced as the latest headliner of BST Hyde Park 2023.The summer series of gigs will return to Hyde Park in central London in July 2023, with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band already announced on the line-up.BST Hyde Park organisers have confirmed this morning (September 29) that Joel will headline the series on July 7, 2023, in what will be his only European live appearance of the year.A line-up of special supporting guests for the show is set to be announced soon.Tickets will be available first to AMEX members in a pre-sale from 10am today before a general sale begins at 10am on October 6 from here.A post shared by BST Hyde Park (@bsthydepark)Elsewhere, Billy Joel’s 1990 live film Live At Yankee Stadium will be screened in cinemas next week (October 5 and 9) to celebrate the musician’s 50 years in music.“Billy Joel’s legendary 1990 concert at Yankee Stadium in The Bronx stands as one of the greatest concert films of all time,” a synopsis for the film reads. “Shot in 16mm colour film, the original concert has now been meticulously re-mixed and re-edited.“The newly edited version includes a never-before-released performance of ‘Uptown Girl’, along with interviews from Billy and behind-the-scenes footage from the event’s production.

Billy Joel will headline the British Summer Time festival next July, which marks his only scheduled performance in Europe in 2023. One of the most popular recording artists and respected entertainers in history, Joel will perform on Friday July 7, during BST Hyde Park’s 10th anniversary festival.  He joins previously announced headliners Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band on the BST Hyde Park billing for 2023 so far.

Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde appear to still be together!

Shirley Halperin Executive Editor, Music Madison Square Garden marked the end of Harry Styles’ 15-night run at the venue by installing a permanent banner to mark the accomplishment. The artist’s “Love On Tour” residency played between August 20 through September 21, with Styles taking days off in between performances to appear at Venice and Toronto film festivals. Fans were rewarded on the final night (Wednesday, Sept. 21) with feather boas for all. The banner presentation was anchored CBS host Gayle King during the encore. Styles joins Billy Joel and Phish in the rafters of the Garden, which seats more than 18,000. On the nights when Styles was playing, the venue was transformed into “Harry’s House” with specialty foods, exclusive merch and even signage in nearby subway stations.

Billy Joel found a new “Uptown Girl” — one who was born long after that classic 1983 single became one of his biggest hits — at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.That would be Olivia Rodrigo — the 19-year-old pop sensation — who famously name-checked the Piano Man in her 2021 hit “Deja Vu”: “And I bet that she knows Billy Joel/‘’Cause you played her ‘Uptown Girl’/You’re singing it together.”And, fittingly, Rodrigo joined Joel to sing both “Deja Vu” and “Uptown Girl” for some in the audience who were old enough to be her grandparents. But  there were surprisingly more people in the crowd who knew the words to sing along to “Deja Vu” than you might have expected.
