Bill Burr slams Howie Mandel for ambush interview with Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan — his alleged half-brother
Howie Mandel Does Stuff.”“You’re an a–hole,” Burr told Mandel.Corgan was under the impression that Mandel informed Burr about his appearance, prompting the podcast host to say, “I thought it would be a good surprise.”However, it was the opposite for Burr, who asked, “Can this be edited out?” before just going with it.“All right, f— it, I’ll do it,” Burr said before asking the singer, “Did you ever think the fact that I never told that story… that maybe you shouldn’t?”The stand-up comedian was referring to a previous podcast episode when Corgan claimed that his stepmom had told him: “Do you know who Bill Burr is? Bill Burr might be one of the children that your father sired in his days being a traveling musician.”“You know how many emails and crap I got?” Burr said of the reveal.Despite the tension, Burr told Corgan, “Listen, you’ve done well for yourself, I’m happy for you, but I just would prefer if you just kinda didn’t go around telling these f–king stories. Like, why did you feel the need to do that?”The “1979” singer shared with Burr that Mandel convinced him to tell the story on his podcast after they randomly ran into each other.“The first thing he said to me was, ‘Here comes Bill Burr.’ And I go, ‘Do you know that story somehow?’ And he said, ‘What story?’ And so I told him privately that story and he said, ‘Oh you’ve got to say this on the air,'” Corgan said of Mandel. That didn’t surprise Burr, who then accused Mandel of bringing the singer on for “the f–king ratings.”“He’s bringing you in here, not because he’s trying to heal the bulls–t that we went through growing up,” Burr said.
