Pep Guardiola will be going back on his solemn oath to keep Bernardo Silva at Manchester City for the entirety of his tenure should the midfielder join Barcelona.
The 27-year-old playmaker, who has been at City for five seasons and won four Premier League titles, has reportedly told the club he wants to join the Catalan giants despite having another three full seasons on his Etihad contract.
With Mundo Deportivo reporting that Silva has already asked City to begin talks with Barcelona over a potential move, Guardiola might have to reconsider the stance that he outlined four years prior. “When he played he's played top," said Guardiola ahead of City's trip to Wigan in the FA Cup back in February of 2018, which they lost 1-0. "He's a young guy, he's a guy in the locker room who we are so happy to have here."He'll stay a long time, while I'm here he will not move on, he will stay with me. Can Manchester City win the Premier League title without Bernardo Silva?
