'People's behaviour has been so poor': GMP's new top cop vows to clamp down on Covid rule breakers

direct to your inboxGreater Manchester Police's new top cop has vowed to clamp down on Covid rule breakers following a weekend in which 170 people were fined for breaching lockdown.Acting Chief Constable Ian Pilling said a 'sizeable minority' of people were 'letting everybody else down'.The majority of last weekend's fines were slapped on people attending house parties.

This included a large gathering of more than 40 people at a flat on Derby Street in Cheetham Hill in the early hours of Sunday morning, which saw one person fined.
