People claiming benefits or Working Tax Credits may be eligible for a bonus

financial blow and affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The number of people on furlough increased between November 30, 2020 and January 31, 2021.

Official figures from GOV.UK show that on November 30, some 1.22 million workers were being paid through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, which increased to 1.24 million on December 31.

Countless others who have not been put on the furlough scheme are living off a reduced salary, or none at all and now relying on Universal Credit as their only source of income - over six million claimants were receiving the benefit by January 2021.
