A dog owner has sparked a heated debate and claims to have been 'shamed' after she named her pet pooch after a deadly virus.
Most people take some time to consider what they will call their new family member when they know they are getting a pet. However, one owner may have taken things too far after she called her new dog 'Covid' because she rescued the canine during the national lockdown.
Speaking on Reddit, the owner, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “We found a stray puppy during the start of our lockdown.
It started by feeding him scraps in the back garden where we were spending so much of our time.“Now he’s moved in and is probably going to stay unless someone comes forward to claim him.
