When Manchester City return from the international break with a home fixture against Burnley on Saturday, there will be a few familiar faces camped at the bottom of Sir Howard Bernstein Way.

Stood under a gazebo - unless the infamous Manchester rain decides to have a day off - outside the Etihad Stadium, across the road from Asda will be volunteers from MCFC Fans Foodbank Support.

With supporters now allowed back into Premier League matches following successive lockdowns, a group of selfless City fans - everyday people like most football supporters - have returned to collecting food donations on matchdays.

That they have been hugely successful and are more in demand than ever before is a depressing indictment of the UK's growing hunger
